Paul at Citifield...

My wife and I had the great pleasure of seeing Paul McCartney at Citifield on Friday. July 17th, 2009 @ 8:30pm.

I was a great concert and definitely one for the record books!

Paul looked and sounded great and the band was right on!

Last year I got to see Paul at the "Last Play at Shea" concert that Billy Joel did...it was great to see him return the favor.

One of the things that I noticed that was kind of funny, was that it almost seemed like Paul had been to one of '64s orchestra shows. They did " Got to Get You Into My Life" as well as Eleanor Rigby, and Yesterday....I  kind half expected him to do "For No One". Well anyway, the reason for this post, was that I wanted to say that I think that 64 does those songs better.

There is something to be said about the overall sound of the Beatles and that even with the same vocalist there clearly is something missing. Now I am sure that Paul does not want the other guys in the band to try and copy his ol' mates to the tee, but I just hear, and feel things are a little lackluster without the contributions from the other remaining Beatles.

This is something that 64 has been able to give us a little insight to, and capture a bit of...which is the "magic" of the Beatles musical chemistry.
